Mercier Vineyard: A unique terroir, The Loire South Side

In the heart of Vendée, in Vix, is Domaine Mercier which embodies the know-how and diversity of Loire-Vendée wines. This estate, located furthest south of the Loire, benefits from a warm and temperate oceanic climate, ideal for good ripening of the grapes.

Their vines are planted on an ancient clay-limestone island. They draw their nutrients from rich soil and are caressed by the sea wind which constantly blows from the West and gives some of their Grandes Cuvées mineral notes, adding a unique dimension to each bottle. Domaine Mercier produces wines from various appellations, including the AOC Fiefs Vendéens, with traditional methods unique in Vendée.

Their know-how in growing vines is the fruit of a tradition that places nature at the heart of their concerns. Here, every viticultural gesture is guided by common sense and respect for nature. The estate is also certified by High Environmental Value (HVE), at level 3. And the vinification of all Cuvées M complies with the specifications of the ORGANIC label. This is therefore the guarantee of a wine produced in a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach! These owner-harvesters are keen to produce good wine while respecting nature and the environment.

If you are curious to discover tasty Vendée wines, with unique Vendée family know-how, do not hesitate to come and meet them. The professionals at Domaine Mercier will be delighted to welcome you to their cellar to offer you a guided tasting of their different vintages, while introducing you to the estate and their know-how. With professionalism and attentiveness, they will guide you in your choice of wines.

Two tastings are offered to you: an individual formula and a group formula. The individual formula, intended for 1 to 8 people, includes the tasting of 4 of their vintages. This service is free, with no obligation to purchase and without an appointment! The group formula, for its part, is aimed at 9 to 55 people and also includes the tasting of 4 vintages. The additional advantage of this formula is the visit to their Cellars! This service is offered at a price of 5 euros including tax per person, with no obligation to purchase, and by appointment.

• Monday – Friday : 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. / 2 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
• Saturday : 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. / 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
• Sunday and public holidays: closed
