Spanning 13 hectares of forest, this area offers hiking and discovery enthusiasts a unique experience, combining historical heritage and exceptional biodiversity. With two courses specially designed to explore the natural and historical riches of the estate, visitors can immerse themselves in an enchanting setting while discovering remarkable trees and historical points of interest.

      An exceptional natural setting

Whether you are a botany enthusiast, a history lover or simply looking for an outdoor getaway, the estate has something to satisfy all your desires.

Heritage Route: A journey through History

The Heritage Trail is an invitation to discover the rich and fascinating history of the Domaine du Boisniard. This light trail, accessible to all, is punctuated by around ten historical points which reveal the secrets of the area. By following this route, visitors can learn more about the origins of the estate, its evolution over the centuries, and the people who left their mark there.

Points of interest include architectural remains, ancient living spaces, and natural features that have played a key role in the history of the estate. Each stage of the route is accompanied by detailed explanatory panels, offering a captivating insight into Boisniard's past. This route is ideal for families and history lovers who want to combine hiking and cultural discovery.

Remarkable tree trail: A botanical exploration

For lovers of nature and botany, the Remarkable Trees Trail is a must. This longer trail allows you to view more than 25 remarkable trees, each with a unique history and characteristics. Among the species to discover are the black elderberry, the Himalayan cedar and the horse chestnut, among others.

This route offers a unique opportunity to familiarize yourself with the arboreal diversity of the area. Each remarkable tree is identified and accompanied by information on its species, its age, and its role in the local ecosystem. Visitors can thus enrich their botanical knowledge while enjoying a pleasant walk in the forest.

      Self-guided routes for free exploration

The Domaine du Boisniard routes are designed to be explored in complete freedom thanks to self-guided booklets. These booklets, available at the estate reception, provide detailed information on each point of interest and remarkable tree, allowing visitors to follow the trails at their own pace. Of course, it is also possible to wander freely in the park and create your own route, according to your desires and discoveries.

      Outdoor activities

In addition to thematic trails, Domaine du Boisniard offers a variety of outdoor activities to enrich your experience. Visitors can explore the animal park, known as Ferme du Boisniard, where they can observe many animals and learn about their way of life. A visit to the Potager du Boisniard is also a must, offering an overview of sustainable growing techniques and allowing you to discover a multitude of vegetables and aromatic herbs grown on site. These outdoor activities perfectly complement the hiking trails, offering moments of discovery and fun for the whole family.

Observation of falconers and their birds

During your walks, don't miss the opportunity to see the estate's falconers with their majestic birds of prey. The Domaine du Boisniard has a long tradition of falconry, and its very name, "Boisniard", refers to this practice. The term "Niard" refers to a young wild falcon caught in the nest, often clumsy and awkward, symbolizing youth and learning.

The presence of falconers and their birds adds a fascinating dimension to your visit, offering unique moments of observation and discovery. You can learn more about the art of falconry, the role of falcons in the ecosystem, and the special relationship between these birds and their masters.

Very nice hotel with a magnificent park. The hotel is small, intimate, which is good, it allows a break from the crowds at Puy du Fou and offers a personalized welcome. The parking pass for Puy is a very pleasant touch for customers. As well as baggage handling at the start of the day. The staff is charming, pleasant, discreet while remaining accessible. The room (Orchid suite) is spacious, well-equipped and quiet. The bedding is excellent. On the SPA side, being under renovation we were not able to take advantage of all the features but we nevertheless had a great time. We also had dinner at the Bistrot, very warm welcome and incredible menu, you can feel the Michelin-starred cuisine at work. The wines offered were relevant and good. On the negative points: - Impossible to offer breakfast (very good by the way) in the room, even if we understand that the season is coming to an end, it is a possibility indicated everywhere (booklets) and it is still a 5 stars. - The hotel bar deserves to be a little more stocked, especially if the restaurants next door are more stocked. It’s a shame because there are some very good references. Other beers than Mélusine would be welcome. In conclusion, we were delighted with this stay at the Domaine, we intend to keep this address as a base during our future visits to the region. Thanks to the domain team.
