The Port of La Guittière, an oyster farming village to discover in Vendée

Its history is not new since originally, this salt village allowed the trade of salt, wheat but also wine, while the neighboring boats deposited in Vendée the stones which served as ballast. These same stones allowed the construction of the houses of the charming Port de la Guittière, which will become an oyster farming village from 1915. The mixture of fresh water and salt water of the Payré estuary is a blessing for the producers who obtain delicate and fragrant oysters, labeled "Vendée Atlantique".
